About Trina Hobson
'A fine art oil painter, striving to create emotive images which tell or introduce a story. The constructing or staging of the paintings are intended to invite the viewer into an intimate, imaginary world'
I have showcased my paintings through collaborative projects and solo exhibitions both nationally and internationally. These include The Royal Ulster Academy, Belfast, The Royal Hibernian Academy, Dublin and Mall Galleries, London. Solo exhibitions include The Higher Bridges Gallery, Enniskillen, Gallery 27, Dublin, McKenna Gallery, Omagh, ArtisAnn, Belfast and The Irish Arts Centre, New York.
As well as an exhibiting oil painter, I am a registered art psychotherapist and projection card mediator.
Each aspect of my practice is concerned with the human condition.
I offer one-to-one therapeutic interventions using projective techniques in my art studio in Belfast city centre to encourage curiosity, self exploration, insight and reflection.
This guided journey cultivates an awareness and understanding of self and others. It challenges existing thinking patterns, judgements and perspectives enhancing both empowerment and interpersonal effectiveness.
